|
Seeking entrepreneurial Java Architect that isn't afraid to work long hours. This isn't a sweatshop, but a very committed team in a young (but very successful) software development company. Each member of the team is quite passionate about the product and the future of it. A lot of the functional requirements for future releases are driven by customers, but a larger portion of the requirements come from internal engineers and architects who are constantly pondering the question “How can I make this solution even better?” There is a great sense of pride that comes with the fact that you know others are listening to you and your ideas are coming to fruition. The engineering team is a group of very mature professionals who are dedicated to their career and likely aspire to be CTO’s or Principal Architects in the near future.
Now for the technical skills required:
- 10 or more years of software development experience
- 7 or more years of Java development experience
- Experience writing Eclipse Plugins and/or RCP Applications
- Knowledge and experience with of one or more of the following:
* Spring
* SWT and JFace
* Eclipse Web Standard Tools (WST)
* Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF)
* Eclipse Graphical Modeling Framework (GMF)
- Mastery of object-oriented design with appropriate use of design patterns
- Understands the implications of software designs and implementation choices on performance and maintainability
- Is self-directed with the ability to find relevant information and solve complex problems
- Is a hands-on developer capable of working independently or with a team of experienced developers to build excellent but timely solutions
- Has the ability to work on cross-functional teams to develop requirements and functional designs
- Can interact with people using excellent verbal and written communication
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to XML, XSLT, and XPath
- Experience with graphical modeling environments
- Exposure to J2EE containers like Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss, or SAP WAS
- Experience working with databases such as Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, MySQL, and Postgres
- Familiarity with open source development tools like ANT and Velocity
- Experience developing web applications using technologies such as JSP and AJAX
- Experience deploying and consuming web services using Axis, SOAP, WSDL
- Exposure to Service Oriented Architectures
- Experience developing applications for resale
- Experience working on open source projects
- Experience contributing to an open source community (forums, wiki, etc)
