Job Description

We are currently seeking a BEA Weblogic Portal Developer for our San Francisco location. This is a developer position for Internet Services Support group in ISTS.
BEA WEBLOGIC PORTAL DEVELOPER
Responsibilities:
1. Application Development:
- Perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing, testing support, deployment support and maintenance for the Internet and our BEA Weblogic Portal applications.
- Accurately estimate effort for requested enhancements.
- Provide clear communication and needed documentation for all system modifications.
2. Enhancement and Maintenance to Portal Applications:
- Perform analysis and code fixes to the Java applications for our BEA Weblogic Portal.
- Monitor system health on daily basis including but not limited to checking the system logs, checking batch runs and producing needed daily reports.
- Participate in recurring operations meetings
- Respond to customer issues/problems forwarded by the call center.
- Manage problem determination, escalation and coordination within the team/other groups to resolve production failures in a timely manner.
- Respond to Alert messages coming from the BMC Patrol, call center, client, test team and other sources Install and test patches from Vendors as required.
- Configure applications to work with patches/upgrades in Weblogic and databases.
- Provide client support and consultation.
- Provide support for feasibility analysis and estimation.
- Provide ad-hoc data requests and research questions.
- Participate in on-call rotations
ESSENTIAL/REQUIRED:
- BEA Weblogic 8.x, 9.2 BEA Weblogic Portal Object-Oriented design skills: Java, JDK 1.4.x J2EE (JSP's, Servlet's, Tag Libraries, JSTL) XML, XML Schema, DTD JDBC, QL HTML/JavaScript/CSS Struts 1.1, including modules, tiles & validation framework ANT Source Control (ClearCase, PVCS or similar tools).
- Min 4 years experience working on web and JAVA applications.
- Experience working as member of team developing and supporting applications.
- Superior written and verbal communications skills.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience required
