Job Description
|
The position(s) have been created due to the decision by the firm to completely redesign and improve Standard’s Internet/ Intranet solutions. As part of this enterprise effort the company is implementing a portal based approach and will be leveraging IBM’s WebSphere Portal Server product (and Portal Factory) to implement and develop an enhanced web platform upon which to develop superior business solutions.
Function Role/ Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical needs analysis and requirements gathering efforts with end business users in order to develop the technical specifications for the Portal design and development effort.
- Function as a Team Lead; developing schedules, project plans and provide appropriate input for necessary resources.
- Participate with the external consulting firm (IBM or other) in the design and implementation of the WebSphere Portal Architecture.
- Provide portal design, portlet development, testing and implementation.
- Lead less senior Portal Specialist’s in the development process and provide necessary mentoring throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide on-call support for production problems and ensure that customer service levels are met.

Required Background and Experience:
- 7+ years of total I.T. experience.
- 2+ years of Portal design and development experience.
- Extensive website and enterprise web application development.
- Full life-cycle development (user requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation).
- Strong grasp of and, experience with JSF (Java Server Faces)
- Expert level knowledge of the J2EE stack and Java/J2EE development.
- Background developing business applications (not just software).
- UNIX and Web Application Servers (Weblogic, WAS, Tomcat, Apache, etc.)
- Large scale, enterprise systems design / development background
Additional background a significant plus:
- Team Lead experience.
- IBM WebSphere Portal Server experience.
- IBM Portlet Factory experience.
