Senior Software Engineer
Location New York, NY
Description:
This position is primarily responsible for architecting the product framework, and designing and building custom solutions using that framework. Leadership ability is welcome, and will be encouraged in this position. The position entails working with a small engineering team to bring products to fruition in a timely but quality-conscious manner.
Responsibilities:
==> Work as a part of a small development team to ensure on-time delivery of quality products
==> Use the latest web development technologies to streamline the development process
==> Learn about and be open to using progressive development methodologies ( e.g. XP, Agile)
==> Analyze and recommend improvements in technology
==> Interface with staff to ensure effective communications and expectation management
==> Keep up with trends in effective software development
Requirements:
==> A minimum of 5 years of OO design and development experience
==> A deep knowledge of all of the technology: Java/J2EE/JSP/Servlet, RDBMS (Oracle and PL/SQL), and web technologies (AJAX, JSF)
==> Experiences in portal, portlet, and inter-portal communication development is a plus
==> Proficient in database schema design and database security
==> A working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XML, Portal development
==> Experience with a Unix/Linux-based OS a plus
