Role: Application Architect - J2EE
Role Description:
The application architect will analyze the existing CEI Process and formulate a technical solution appropriate for the client environment. They will take into account current infrastructure, follow client design standards, and work to design a flexible system.
The successful candidate will possess an accomplished background of applications development in a team environment using a structured methodology. This includes having experience in each phase of the full software development life-cycle, including support and maintenance of Web and PC based software solutions for US and global internal clients. This role involves the development and support of complex software applications and components.
Skills & Capabilities:
• 4 + years experience designing complex Java/J2EE based applications
• Experienced in GUI development
• Experienced in SOA architecture and designing/implementing web services
• Technical – Application and Reports Design, Development & Testing
• Web Services
• Application modeling: UML, Use Case methods, Rational Rose, Visio
• e-infrastructure integration, e.g. Siteminder, Active Directory, LDAP, iPlanet, etc
• Global web application development for corporate organizations
• Internet Explorer, XSL, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, XML / XBRL / Taxonomy support, mapping
• Knowledge of the latest trends in software design, structures, methods and tools
Required experience:
• 4+ years experience developing Web Applications
• 4+ years design and development of multi-tier software applications
• 4+ years experience with complete software development lifecycle (analysis through deployment)
• 4+ years in-depth experience in J2EE architecture including: EJBs, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, Struts, Servlets, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, Web services, Ant
• Experience in BEA WebLogic Application Server 8
• Experience in BEA WebLogic Integration (including experience with JCA, web services, XML Beans, EAI and enterprise
• Experience with Object Oriented methods
• Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of writing international applications
• Conducting design and code reviews from an off-shore development team
• Participate in issues resolution and change control processes
• Contribute to all phases of the development cycle for all Infrastructure applications;
• Analyze specifications and perform program/database design activities;
• Produce structured, commented code based on the documented requirements;
• Able to follow naming conventions and generate proper design documentation;
• Prepare and maintain system documentation;
• Provide in-depth analysis and resolutions to web technical issues;
• Solve technical problems or recommend alternative solutions to team members and leaders;
• Keep project manager or supervisor aware of progress.
